Algoma University, commonly shortened to Algoma U or Algoma, is an undergraduate-only public university with its main campus in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. Established in 1965, Algoma is the smallest undergraduate-only university in Ontario.
Like most other provinces of Canada, Ontario has a continental climate. Northern Ontario has long, very cold winters and short summers. The southern part of the province, however, enjoys the tempering effect of the Great Lakes. Rainfall is distributed throughout the year.
Algoma U does not have Master or Doctoral programs so we are able to focus all of our energy on you. We provide opportunities most students could only experience at the graduate level, but here they’re strictly for you, the undergrad! You can work in a lab beside your professor conducting sophisticated research, be a Teaching Assistant or Research Assistant, or even get published for the work you conduct throughout your studies. You’ll craft a sophisticated thesis and participate in elite competitions. You’re our priority so you get all the opportunities.
